Bill of Lading

A bill of lading is a receipt issued by a carrier to a shipper where goods are being transported. A bill of lading is also referred to as a BL or BOL and confirms that particular goods have been received on the vessel as cargo and is to be shipped to the place of delivery of the consignee. A bill of lading will typically include information regarding the name of the shipping company, shippers name, order and notify party, description of the goods on board, gross/net/tare weight and freight measurements
