ATON
ATON stands for ‘aid to navigation’ and is a marker or technical device which is used by vessels for steering a safe course of navigation. An ATON assists navigators in establishing the optimum route and will provide caution in danger zones. Common forms of navigational aids include lighthouses and fog signals.
